Thursday, April 19, 2012, St. Wendelin Catholic Church, 2281 Columbus: St. Wendelin Church is one of 12 churches in the Cleveland Catholic Diocese that won appeals to the Vatican’s Congregation of the Clergy which ruled that the churches should be reopened. Cleveland Bishop Richard Lennon decided not to appeal the decision in the interest of promoting “peace and unity in the Diocese of Cleveland.” Two other churches in the Plain Press service area will also reopen due to the Vatican’s Congregation of the Clergy ruling: St. Emeric at 1860 W. 22nd and St. Barbara at 1505 Denison.
