(Plain Press, June 2014)Residents reported thefts of backyard metal gates – popped right off their hinges and taken from backyards. The thefts were reported in the middle of May from yards with back alleys.

After a report on the Second District Police Community Relations Committee Facebook page – a woman urged police to check area scrapyards.

In the First Police District, residents of W. 84^th Street between Brinsmade and Clark Avenue reported thefts of backyard metal gates. The gates were stolen from the back fences along alleys between W. 84^th and W. 82^nd and between W. 84^th and W. 86^th. The rear garden gate at the Bigelow Community Garden Site was spared because it had a lock on it, said residents.
