Clinton, a lifelong member of United Methodist Church, spoke to participants at the assembly. West Side Community House has roots in the Methodist community. While the organization is now a nonsectarian nonprofit social service agency, it was founded as the Methodist Deaconess Home of Cleveland in 1890.
