To the Editor:
(Plain Press, November 2014) During the week of October 6, 2014, the Cleveland Restoration Society electrical contractor completed the work for the St. Barbara Church Lighting.
St. Barbara Church, located at 1505 Denison Avenue, was founded in 1905 and in 2012 named as a Designated Landmark by the Cleveland Landmarks Commission. It has now been included along with other local area Churches into the Sacred Landmarks Steeple Lighting Program. The Reinhold W. Erickson Fund of The Cleveland Foundation provided the funding for the lighting.

The four sides of the St. Barbara Church Bell Tower, along with the Statue of St. Barbara located at the front exterior of the Church, and the “St. Barbara” Grill Work over the main front exterior entrance of the Church doors, both facing Denison Avenue, have now been illuminated and are visible during the night hours.
This lighting permits St. Barbara’s Church to be visible at night within the local neighborhood community. The illuminated Bell Tower of the Church as well is now visible at night from the West 14th Street on ramp to I-71, the Jennings 176 freeway and the Steel Yard Commons shopping center.
This local Church shines brightly with a warm welcome to all, and as stated in the Church weekly bulletin. “We are a welcoming Roman Catholic Parish that cherishes the Polish heritage of our founders and celebrates the diversity of all who enter, thus striving to give glory to God through worship and service to the community.”
This Church lighting offers positive hope for a bright future for the neighborhood community of Brooklyn Centre.
