St. Colman to celebrate installation of Rev. Caroli Shao as new pastor

(Plain Press, November 2014) St. Colman Parish will celebrate the installation of its new pastor, the Rev. Caroli Shao, at the 5 p.m. Mass on Saturday, November 15. Bishop Richard Lennon will celebrate the Mass at St. Colman Church, 2057 W. 65th.  The mass will be followed by a reception in the parish hall. All are invited.

Father Caroli Shao will serve as pastor of both St. Colman and nearby St. Stephen parishes. He has already been installed as pastor of St. Stephen. Father Ben Koka, Parochial Vicar, will be assisting Fr. Caroli Shao at both parishes.

Fr. Caroli Shao, age 49, was born on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania East Africa on May 4, 1965. He was ordained in the Order of the Apostles of Jesus in 1999.

Both Fr. Caroli Shao and Fr. Ben Koka are members of the Order of the Apostles of Jesus. The Apostles of Jesus is religious missionary order of priests and brothers founded in Uganda, East Africa, in 1968. The order soon spread to Kenya, Tanzania, the Sudan, and to other parts of Africa, Europe, Australia and the United States.

The Apostles of Jesus Missionary Priests and Brothers are currently serving around the world in various ministries. Currently in the United States alone, in over 20 states, there are 64 Apostles of Jesus missionaries assisting in helping where there are shortages of priests – nine of them in the Diocese of Cleveland serving in hospitals, schools, parishes, other social services and as the Pastor and Parochial Vicar of St. Colman and St. Stephen Parishes.
