PHOTO BY TED LOBAUGH Saturday, April 16, 2016; Variety Theatre Building, W. 118th and Lorain Avenue: State Senator Michael Skindell announced that $250,000 for the historic Variety Theatre was included in the current version of the State of Ohio two-year capital budget that was introduced in the Ohio Senate on April 12th. This amount, coupled with the $1.4 million the project received in Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credits in 2015, means the $14 million theater restoration project project would see a total of $1.65 million from the state of Ohio toward its funding goal.
