Monday, September 4, 2023; St. Rocco’s Labor Day Festival, 3205 Fulton Road: Chris Nerantzoulis, a member of the eventual winning Greasy Pole Climbing contest, smiles after getting up onto the shoulders of a teammate. In the first round of the contest teams are allowed to use four members to climb the greasy telephone pole to the top. Teams then get two more tries at climbing the pole using their entire five-member team. The first team to reach the bar at the top of the pole wins.

The Plum team previously won the greasy pole climbing contest in 2017 and 2019. The contest took a hiatus over the past few years due to the pandemic.
