(Plain Press November 2024) Cleveland City Council announced at its October 14th meeting the awarding of a $500,000 federal Urban Development Action Grant (UDAG) loan to Neighborhood Family Practice to help finance a new facility at W. 130th & Lorain Avenue.
According to a statement from Cleveland City Council, the legislation, sponsored by Ward 16 Councilman Brian Kazy, will provide Neighborhood Family Practice with a UDAG loan to partially finance costs associated with the demolition, construction, renovation, environmental assessments/remediation, infrastructure, landscaping, EV charging stations, signage, and other eligible costs located at 13027 Lorain Avenue, in Ward 16.
Neighborhood Family Practice will relocate its office at 11709 Lorain Avenue to the new location. As part of the relocation and expansion project, Neighborhood Family Practice will be able to expand its dental services. The larger new location will also allow Neighborhood Family Practice to include a pharmacy in its plans. The statement from Cleveland City Council says the Jefferson-Puritas neighborhood currently does not have a pharmacy due to the closure of two CVS pharmacies and a Rite Aid. The site of the new project most recently was the former home of a CVS pharmacy.
Primary care, behavioral health, and dental services are expected to open in the new facility by mid 2025. The pharmacy is expected to open in late 2025 or early 2026. Neighborhood Family Practice has seven locations in Cleveland and Lakewood.
