WOMEN’S MARCH: On Saturday, November 2 from 12 pm to 2:30 pm, Women’s March Cleveland and the Imperial Women Coalition will host a march at Market Square Park in Ohio City across from the Westside Market. Our march is not a political march but a march for women’s rights.
ARTS
ARTIST CONVERSATION: Join Art House, Inc. (3119 Denison Ave.) for a night of conversation with craftsmen Steve Jordan and Mike Moritz on Thursday, November 21 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. The event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.
THE DAY OF THE DEAD or Día de Muertos Festival will take place in Cleveland’s Detroit Shoreway neighborhood on Saturday, November 2. Día de Muertos is a cultural tradition in Mexico and many Latin American countries to honor deceased loved ones. The event is free and family friendly and begins at 11 am, but the main programming kicks off at 3:30 pm with a community procession of “Skulls & Skeletons” along Detroit Avenue starting at Cleveland Public Theatre, 6415 Detroit Ave. The festivities will continue through 10 pm with live music and performance, Latin food, and visual art exhibits.
JULIA DE BURGOS BOOK CLUB: Join us for our bi-monthly in-person book discussion for adults presented in partnership with Literary Cleveland and led by Nahomy Ortiz. This month we will meet on Friday, November 22nd at 6:30 pm to discuss Dangers of Smoking in Bed by Mariana Enriquez. MUSIC AT MAIN: Enjoy free live music Saturday, November 2 at 2 pm at the main branch of the Cleveland Public Library (325 Superior Ave), in the third floor lobby. This month’s concert will feature Sororii.Their music blends warm, melodic bassoon lines, plucked and strummed cello, and voice, creating instrumental grooves with underlying world, latin, and afro beats.
PILGRIM CHURCH ORGAN CONCERT: Come celebrate the 175th anniversary of Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Tremont (2592 W 14th St.) with a free organ recital by Evan Collins featuring the works of Bach, Bridge, Demessieux, Price, and more on Sunday, November 10 at 3 pm. The instrument is a 40 rank pipe organ installed by Farrand and Votey in 1894. Parking is available in the church lots or on Starkweather Ave and neighboring streets.
ST. PAUL’S STREET STUDIO, 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, November 2 at St. Paul’s Community Church, 4427 Franklin. Join in to share music, poetry/spoken word in a peaceful atmosphere of respect. CURBSIDE LEAF PICKUP runs from November 6 thru December 29 in the city of Cleveland. Residents can leave up to 20 bags of leaves on the curbside next to their regular trash for pickup. The city reminds residents to never rake leaves into the street, where they can clog sewer drains, create a hazard for motorists and cyclists, and affect snow and ice control.
PROJECT CARE: The mission of Project CARE (Community Animal Retention Effort) is to support pet owners, helping them keep their pets during tough times.
Services offered to residents in the Project CARE area include: low-cost spay/neuter, one-time emergency medical assistance through our Peticaid program (restrictions apply), low-cost flea treatment/prevention, and emergency pet food assistance, as needed.Interested in learning more about Project CARE or volunteering? SCHOLARSHIP NIGHT: Junior League of Cleveland will host a Scholarship Application Networking Night on Tuesday, November 19 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the League Loft (located at 3615 Superior Avenue E Building 44, 4th Floor, Suite 4404C). The event is open to women seeking to return to school to complete their degree after interruption and foster care graduates pursuing their undergraduate education. EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING: There’s still time to vote early at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, at 2925 Euclid Ave. Early voting will be open from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm from Wednesday October 30 to Friday November 1; from 8 am to 4 pm on Saturday November 2; and from 1 pm to 5 pm on Sunday November 3. A valid photo ID is required to vote.

WINTER LAND (formerly Winterfest), Downtown Cleveland’s annual holiday celebration, runs from 10 am to 8 pm on Saturday, November 30 in and around Public Square. The tree lighting ceremony begins at 5:30 pm, followed by a fireworks display at 6 pm. Both are free and open to the public.

FREE DENTAL AND MEDICAL CLINIC at the Huntington Convention Center (300 Lakeside Ave.) on Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9. Presented by Medworks, the clinic will provide the following free services: Dental screenings, cleanings, extractions and fillings for adults. Dental screenings and sealants for children. Hearing screenings, Women’s Health, STD testing, podiatry, mammograms, vaccines, produce bags from the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, insurance enrollment/education, and community resources. 311 NEW WEBSITE: From potholes to graffiti to bulk trash pickup, communicating with the City of Cleveland is now easier than ever. Visit the City’s new 311 website to submit a non-emergency service request that gets routed directly to the correct department to complete the work. A reference number will be automatically generated. See the website for a full list of service requests available today at clevelandohio.gov/311. The phone service is also still available by dialing 311 while within the city limits or dialing 216-664-2000 from anywhere.

COMPUTER POP-UP SHOP: Need a computer? Eligible customers can shop with PCs for the People to receive a low-cost computer and/or mobile hotspot. Join us at our storefront at 9926 Lorain Ave. on Wednesday, November 6 from 10 am to 3 pm to shop for desktops starting at $30, laptops starting at $50, and internet via mobile hotspot or fixed network (in qualifying areas) starting at $15/$16 per month plus applicable device fees. You are eligible to shop with us if you receive SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, Federal Public Housing Assistance, or the Veterans Pension Benefit Program, or if you have a household income under 200% of federal poverty guidelines. Please bring proof of your income or benefits.
TECHCENTRAL UPGRADES: From November 2024 thru January 2025, the TechCentral part of the downtown branch of the Cleveland Public Library will receive a series of upgrades, including upgraded computers, new maker equipment, and expanded workspaces.
