DANCE CLASSES FOR KIDS: Ready to dance? Join us for free dance classes at various branches of the Cleveland Public Library. “Ballet Basics” is a six-week, intro dance class intended for toddlers (ages 3 – 6) and their parents or guardians, running Mondays, March 2 – April 13 (except March 23), 11 am – 12 pm at the South Brooklyn Branch (4303 Pearl Rd).  Our other class, “Library Dance Lab,” is for kids ages 6 and up and will explore styles from ballet to hip-hop, Mondays, March 9 – April 13 (except March 23), 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm at the South Brooklyn Branch OR Fridays, April 10 – May 1, 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm at the Jefferson Branch (850 Jefferson Ave.). All dancers must have a signed and completed waiver to participate. Free dance shoes will be provided, which you can keep after attending three sessions! THE LINCOLN PARK MURAL RESTORATION kicks off with a potluck and work session on Sunday March 1 from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm when we’ll take the initial steps to restoring our beloved mural.  Come lend a hand – and your artistic voice – to this community art project. STREET STUDIO: This month’s Street Studio will be Saturday, March 21 from 1 pm to 3 pm at St. Paul’s Community Church, 4427 Franklin Ave. All are welcome to share music, poetry, spoken word or to listen in support. ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE: The 2026 St. Patrick’s Day Parade, sponsored by the United Irish Societies of Greater Cleveland, will be held on Tuesday, March 17. The parade will kick off at 1:04 pm at the corner of East 18th St. and Superior Ave. and travel down Superior, finishing at Public Square.

MANAGING CREDIT CARDS AND DEBT: Ready to take charge of your credit cards? Join Central State University at various Cleveland Public Library branches this month for this series of FREE workshops designed to help you build smart money habits. Each week, we explore practical topics that make managing credit and debt easier. You’ll walk away with knowledge you can put into action right away! Join us on Tuesday, March 3 at the Brooklyn Branch (3706 Pearl Rd.), on Wednesday, March 11 at the Lorain Branch (8216 Lorain Ave.), or Monday, March 23 at the West Park Branch (3805 W 157th St). SCHOLARSHIPS FOR WOMEN: Cleveland-area women aged 25 and up who are currently enrolled in a four-year or graduate degree program are encouraged to apply for a scholarship from College Club West for the 2026 school year, at collegeclubwest.org/scholarships. The deadline to apply is March 16. The Scholarship Committee will interview applicants in May and will select recipients on the basis of maturity, academic record, promise, goals, and financial need. Recipients will be announced within a few days and invited to our scholarship banquet on June 10,. Grants will be distributed starting in the summer of 2026.

JOB SEEKERS APPLICATION CLINIC: Join Jumpstart Inc. at the Lorain Branch of the Cleveland Public Library (8216 Lorain Ave.) for a free workshop designed to help jumpstart your job search Thursday, March 5 at 10 am. Also, stop by after class for on-the-spot support. We’re here to help with resumes, cover letters, job searches, and more – available 11 am-5 pm on class days.

SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM: Students between the ages of 14 and 18 years old that are looking for a summer job can register online for the Summer Employment Program, sponsored by Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Y.O.U.), at youthopportunities.org. If a student is selected, their work experiences typically start in mid-June and run for six weeks. The pay rate is $13.50 per hour for 20-25 hours per week. FREE TAX PREPARATION ASSISTANCE: With the Cuyahoga Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Coalition, eligible individuals can prepare and file their taxes absolutely free at convenient locations around Northeast Ohio. UTILITY ASSISTANCE

HEAP WINTER CRISIS PROGRAM: Is your power disconnected or about to be shut off? The Home Energy Assistance Program’s Winter Crisis Program, administered by Step Forward, may be able to help! This program provides a one-time benefit per heating season to help eligible Cuyahoga County households restore or maintain heat and electric service during the winter months. Households at or below 175% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (about $52,500 for a family of four) may qualify if their service has been disconnected, they have received a disconnection notice, or they have 25% or less bulk fuel remaining in their tank. Assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis and is designed to help households stay safe and warm throughout the winter season.
