Cleveland Museum of Art Presents Raúl de Nieves: Fina at the Transformer Station

Friday, February 15, 2019; Cleveland Museum of Art Presents Raúl de Nieves: Fina at the Transformer Station, 1460 W. 29thStreet: This work created by artist Raúl de Nieves, is titled Fina Joyus. The artist, Raúl de Nieves, was born in Michoacán, Mexico and currently lives in New York City. Raúl de Nieves works in a number of mediums including vintage military suits, sequins, metal bells, threads, glue, cardboard, plastic beads, tape, trims and mannequins. The work is on display at the Transformer Station through April 28th, 2019. The hours are: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Nieves celebrates his Mexican that are central to his family’s history are: faith, perseverance, transformation and community. The show is named in honor of his mother, Josefina.

Friday, February 15, 2019; Cleveland Museum of Art Presents Raúl de Nieves: Finaat the Transformer Station, 1460 W. 29thStreet: These two sculptures were created by artist Raúl de Nieves. The figure on the right (kneeling) is titled: Man’s best friend. The figure on the left (standing) is titled: The longer I slip into a crack the shorter my nose becomes.
