Center Street Swing Bridge slated for rehabilitation

PHOTO BY DEBBIE SADLON Tuesday, July 14, 2020; Center Street Swing Bridge, at Center and Merwin avenues: This bridge is slated for rehabilitation. Work is expected to begin in March of 2021 and the estimated completion date is March of 2022. The bridge will be closed to pedestrians and vehicles for the duration of the project. River traffic will be maintained during construction. The $8.6 million rehab of the bridge is funded with $7.5 million from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Major Bridge Fund; $500,000 from OPWC Funding (State Issue One) and $600,000 from the City of Cleveland.
