To the editor:

   (Plain Press March 2025) Kudos to Cameron Mays and his ‘Don’t kill Rufus’ piece. (Plain Press, January 2025). It took some convincing from my family to see that Mr. Mays was being satirical. If entire redlined minority neighborhoods can be bulldozed to build lousy highways, then why can’t we eminent domain (municipalize) a lousy football team and make its feckless and heartless owner pay for our underfunded mass transit, local schools and colleges and public health? Perhaps we elect politicians with the will to make these changes and who don’t pander to smug billionaires.
