Saturday, July 11, 2026; Garden Walk Cleveland, Monroe Street Cemetery and Green Space, 3207 Monroe Street: The Monroe Street Cemetery Foundation researched the history of this memorial to Gustav Schaefer. According to a description by the Foundation, Gustav Schaefer was born in 1845 in Germany. He came to the United States and started his own firm in 1880, building horse drawn vehicles. By 1913 the company was also making automobile bodies. The company incorporated in 1917 as the Gustav Schaefer Wagon Company. Gustav died in 1936.

Saturday, July 11, 2026; Garden Walk Cleveland, Ohio City Farm, 2304 Bridge Avenue: This 5-acre farm operates as a social enterprise of the nonprofit organization Re:Source Cleveland which serves Cleveland’s immigrant and refugee newcomers. The farm employs former refugees and other immigrants to grow organic produce and work in its kitchen and store. Produce grown on the farm is sold via Community Supported Agriculture shares and in the farm’s kitchen and store.
