June 24, 2021; Wendy Park Bridge Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Whiskey Island. The new 500-foot-long and 12-foot-wide pedestrian and bicyclist bridge extends over the Norfolk-Southern tracks providing access to Wendy Park just north of the Willow Avenue Lift Bridge.
June 24, 2021; new Wendy Park Bridge: The Wendy Park Bridge, or Wendy’s Way, links the Cleveland Foundation Centennial Lake Link Trail to Wendy Park on Whiskey Island and Lake Erie. Construction of the $6 million Wendy Park Bridge was funded in part by $3 million from the Wendy Park Foundation as well as funds from the federal Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) trails project, The Trust for Public Land, State of Ohio capital funds and LAND studio. A new Whiskey Island Trail all-purpose trail now connects Whiskey Island to Edgewater Park.
